Odoo ERP Implementation in the Textile Industry

The textile industry makes cotton, linen, and polyester fabrics in many colors and rolls. Their warehouses and production units were growing, but they tracked everything manually.
Staff often spent hours searching for the right rolls, and managers didn’t know which fabrics were ready or passed quality checks. It caused stress, delays, and mistakes. They chose Odoo ERP to make inventory easy, accurate, and stress-free for everyone.

Odoo ERP Implementation in the Textile Industry

About Project

A textile manufacturing company producing cotton, linen, and polyester fabrics was facing serious inefficiencies in managing its growing warehouses and product lines. Operations were largely manual, with Excel sheets used for stock tracking. Employees spent hours searching for the right fabric rolls, managers lacked real-time visibility, and quality control was paper-based.
To overcome these challenges, the company partnered with Wan Buffer Services to implement a fully customized Odoo ERP system designed for the textile sector — delivering automation, accuracy, and real-time control across all operations.

Business

The goal was to digitize and streamline fabric inventory, enhance production visibility, and implement end-to-end automation — from roll tracking to quality control — while improving team collaboration and decision-making.

Key Challenges

Dynamic Custom Pricing

Handling real-time price calculation based on varying product lengths and steel rates.

Manual Bulk Order Entries

Significant time and errors involved in entering orders from Excel files.

Invalid Custom Entries

Need for automated enforcement of minimum and maximum product limits.

Inefficient Warehouse Picking

Lack of a structured, mobile-enabled system for managing pick lists.

The Solution We Provide

To tackle these issues, Wan Buffer Services implemented an advanced, end-to-end Odoo ERP system covering inventory, production, quality, and analytics — fully optimized for textile operations.

1. Fabric Roll & Batch Management

  • Added a “Fabric Details” tab in Odoo with roll number, GSM, color, QC status, and production date.
  • Enabled full traceability from weaving to dispatch.

2. Smart Stock Segmentation

Built filters by Fabric Type, GSM, Color, and Dye Lot, allowing instant stock lookups like “Blue 200 GSM Cotton.”

3. Real-Time IoT & Barcode Automation

  • Integrated barcode scanners and IoT devices for automatic movement updates across departments.
  • Achieved real-time roll location tracking without manual input.

4. Fabric Quality Control

  • Created a digital “Quality Test” screen linked to each roll.
  • Failed rolls move automatically to quarantine stock; approved rolls go to dispatch.

5. AI-Powered Reordering

  • Implemented automatic reorder suggestions based on past consumption, sales forecast, and machine capacity.

6. QR / Barcode for Each Roll

  • Every roll is assigned a QR code displaying its details, QC results, and linked orders — accessible by scanning.

7. Predictive Inventory Analytics

  • Built smart dashboards to monitor fast-moving, slow-moving, and low-stock fabrics, supporting proactive management.

8. Role-Based Access & Audit Trail

  • Each department manages its own part — QC, Dyeing, or Stores — ensuring accountability and security.
